JOB SUMMARY:

Under general supervision, performs a wide variety of warehouse activities including issuing raw material, shipping and receiving and/or finished goods and maintaining inventory and associated records. Collaborate with Senior Management in the selection, hiring, training, coaching, mentoring, work assignments, 90-day and annual performance evaluations as well as employee conflict and disciplinary solutions.  Provide day-to-day leadership, guidance and training to Material Handlers and other staff, including staff development. Participate in regular cycle counts as well as the bi-annual physical inventory count.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  1. Provides day-to-day leadership, guidance, training, coaching, mentoring, work assignments, 90-day and annual performance evaluations as well as employee conflict and disciplinary resolutions.
  2. Oversees the transportation vehicles used from loading and unloading of raw materials, sub-assemblies, supplies, paper, etc., including equipment used to move material to warehouse storage area and assigning warehouse location.
  3. Monitors material transactions impacting raw materials and/or finished goods; ensures transactions are recorded in enterprise software are accurate and delivered on a timely basis.
  4. Champions the regular cycle counts and variance reporting and analysis for inventory control as well as for the bi-annual physical inventory count.
  5. Directs the packing of manufactured finished good products to transfer to finished goods warehouse and ensures all documentation conform to specifications, including loading and unloading of FG products; or, packing and shipping of customer orders ensuring conformance to customer specifications, including shipping documentation and freight data.
  6. Prepares and disseminates warehouse performance reports such as Inventory Accuracy Percent Report.
  7. Interprets company policies to staff and enforces safety regulations.
  8. Recommends measures to improve quality of service, increasing efficiency of department and work crew and equipment performance.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITES:
  1. Material Handler
  2. Material Handler Lead – RM
  3. Driver
  4. Receiving Coordinator
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 
  1. High School Diploma and 5 years’ experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
The following are desirable:
  1. Working knowledge of materials management concepts and principals in a high-demand/volume workflow manufacturing environment.
  2. Ability to guide, lead, coach, train, mentor and discipline less-experienced staff to accomplish business objectives.
  3. Intermediate Microsoft Office Suite skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and enterprise material planning software such as JD Edwards; OBI software skills at an intermediate level, including producing moderately complex material reports.
  4. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, high-level of accuracy and strong follow through including sorting, checking, counting and verifying numbers.
  5. Ability to operate commercial materials handling equipment such as a scanning gun, dolly lift, stand-up and standard forklift.
  6. Basic understanding of Total Quality Management and Lean Manufacturing concepts and approaches.
  7. MILITARY BACKGROUND IS A PLUS
