The purpose of Job:
Performs a variety of manual tasks related to the operation of the cement plant equipment, machinery and vehicles including loading, leveling, pushing, distributing and relocating materials; inspecting and servicing equipment and machinery, and clean-up in work area and facilities.
Principal Duties
  • Operates a front-end loader to load marl, limestone, gypsum, clinker and other materials into proper hopper or feeder.
  • Inspects heavy equipment/machinery for wear, leakage, spillage, etc. and services some ensuring proper oil levels, water and air, oils and grease motors/related parts.
  • Cleans chutes, equipment, and machinery, as well as spillages in work area and facilities.
  • Logs safety and maintenance status of equipment prior to use.
  • Fills materials bin for raw mill grinding system.
  • Communicates with shift foreman and control room.
  • Serves on various appropriate continuous improvement teams in a positive and active manner and offers ideas of increasing efficiency and improvement with work processes concerning employee’s essential duties, responsibilities, and related matters.
  • Learns and understands all Company safety rules, obeying them and using appropriate safety equipment and checks with the supervisor if there is a question as to safe procedure; keeps up to date on all changes to safety rules. Must demonstrate the commitment to the safety of all persons and property by abiding by all safety rules and regulations.
  • Immediately reports all unsafe conditions to supervisor. 
  • Learns all safety features of machinery or vehicles assigned to work on. 
  • Performs equipment check and maintains a safety and equipment checklist which is to be prepared prior to the daily use of such equipment. 
  • Conducts area equipment check and updates check sheet during the shift.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Leads, Foreman, Supervisors or Management.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Must possess mechanical aptitude and previous experience operating heavy equipment.
Recent Military Background Helpful; Seeking Veterans with the experience of operating the following:
Mine Resistant Ambush Protected Vehicle (MRAP) 
Light Armored Vehicles (LAV)
Amphibious Assault Vehicle (AAV-7)
M1A1 Abrams Tank
MK14 flatbed trailer
MK16 tractor
