Our client, a leader in the firearm industry, is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician to perform daily activities associated with the maintenance and calibration of CMM equipment.  The ideal candidate would have an excellent attention to detail and have previous experience using complex test equipment.
  • Experience using metrology equipment to create complex inspection layouts
  • Incorporate manufacturing processes into the Quality Assurance calibration database
  • Responsible for the maintenance, calibration, and control of inspection, measuring, and all test equipment
  • Ability to edit calibration procedures
  • Be up to date with new engineering specifications
  • Knowledge of engineering drawings, data, and manuals to determine specifications during the quality assurance inspection
  • Ability to interpret and apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing principles according to ASME Y14.5.
  • Performs a multitude of inspections by following specific procedures as necessary
  • Oversees machine operator/assembly personnel for compliance and adequacy.
  • Previous experience using measuring instruments such as height gauges, calipers, thread gauges, plug gauges, micrometers, optical comparator, CMM, etc.
  • Compares colors, shapes, textures, or grades of products or materials with color charts, templates, or samples to verify conformance to standards.
  • Record inspection or test data
  • Experience generating non-conformance reports
  • Great communication skills
  • Can test firing firearms for function and accuracy and ensures final product configuration is up to par with engineering specifications.
  • Responsible for safe and efficient test range maintenance and operation.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Ability to obtain a FOID card or state equivalent.
  • Previous experience operating a CMM.
  • Firearms experience
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds to examine parts, products, moving and storing product and ammunition.
