Our client, a leader in the firearm industry, is seeking a CMM Machinist to run a variety of CMM equipment.  The ideal candidate would have immaculate attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of CMM programs to assist with creation, debugging, verification, and modification.
  • Performs routine preventative maintenance on the CMM
  • Participates in the design of fixtures necessary for accurate CMM inspection.
  • Responsible for the maintenance, calibration, and control of inspection, measuring, and all test equipment.
  • Can utilize computer software to assist with inspections, manufacturing, and measuring equipment.
  • Be up to date with new engineering specifications to ensure adequate inventory exists for all equipment.
  • Creates or modifies existing calibration procedures
  • Maintain calibration records and vendor certifications.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, data, manuals, or other materials.
  • Performs a multitude of inspections such as: receiving, assembly, and end product inspection.
  • Oversees machine operator/assembly personnel for compliance and adequacy.
  • Previous experience using measuring instruments such as height gauges, calipers, thread gauges, plug gauges, micrometers, optical comparator, CMM, etc.
  • Compares colors, shapes, textures, or grades of products or materials with color charts, templates, or samples to verify conformance to standards.
  • Records inspection or test data.
  • Generates non-conformance reports (NCR’s) if non-conforming product is discovered
  • Can test firing firearms for function and accuracy and ensures final product configuration is up to par with engineering specifications.
  • Responsible for safe and efficient test range maintenance and operation.
  • Manages test ammunition and supplies
  • Two years of CMM programming and CMM managing experience.
  • Experience with calibration databases and creating calibration procedures.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Ability to understand and apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing principles according to ASME Y14.5.
  • Firearms experience
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds to examine parts, products, moving and storing product and ammunition.
