Our client, an industry leader in the design and development of high-performance racing products is seeking a Project Mechanical Engineer to help develop and improve manufacturing processes by studying product and manufacturing methods. You will be successful in this role if you have experience in the automotive industry. 


Responsibilities:
  • Develop mechanical system design solutions based on engineering principles and be involved in the presentation of the solution to the customer.
  • Provide technical support to external and internal customers
  • Resolve operational problems related to projects and minimize delays or unexpected cost increases
  • Responsible for project success whether project leader or as part of a project team
  • Ensure all relevant safety objectives and legal requirements are observed for all work completed
  • Support sales team in pre-sales technical concept and budgeting activities
  • Interpret and understand client requirements, identify and address design parameters and engineering problems and ensure solutions are implemented accurately and in budget
  • Analyze project requirements and perform technical calculations supporting design including FEA and CFD
  • Creating and finalizing designs to meet project requirements
  • Creating accurate Bill of Materials
  • Project Execution and management: oversee project workflow and support internal and external resources to ensure timely delivery of projects, expected quality, and allotted budget
  • Mechanical design of customized solutions including motor sizing, pneumatic/electro-pneumatic/and electrical routing
 
 
Requirements:
  • Must have Bachelor’s degree Mechanical Engineering
  • 3-5 years of related job experience
  • Seasoned in Hardware Specifications, Manufacturing Methods, and Procedures, Manufacturing. Quality, Product Development, Presenting Technical Information, CAD, CAD/CAM, SolidWorks
  • Working experience in Toyota Production systems, lean manufacturing, Six Sigma
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in work product
  • Weld, Press Brake, and Laser knowledge
