Raw Material Handler – Oceanside
Pay Rate: $14/Hour plus 8% for 2nd shift and 12% for the weekend
Tuesday to Saturdays
2nd Shift 
Under direct supervision, perform routine material handling functions such as inventory control, data entry, shipment of orders, process shipping documents, moving product, pulling stock or restocking materials and general housekeeping.  Use equipment such as scanning gun, stand-up and standard forklift; and fill material requisitions and/or orders using First-In-First-Out (FIFO) principles and identify discrepancies as well as may pack products for finished goods.  Conduct cycle counts, location verification of materials and resolve warehouse discrepancies following standard operating procedures. Follow organizations’ safety policies, practices, and protocols.
Raw Material Handler:
  1. Pulls and provides material from stock following FIFO procedures for production manufacturing as requested.
  2. Inspects shipments for damages or defects; records discrepancies or damages and notifies the supervisor and/or procurement staff.
Finished Goods Material Handler:
  1. Verifies serial numbers for product orders as required by FIFO and/or warehouse allocation.
  2. Organizes shipments for commercial transportation; determines most economic and effective packing method; selects appropriate container for the product; packs items to ensure safety to global distribution centers.
  3. Creates address labels for outgoing freight or tags for finished goods in the warehouse.
Applies to Both:
  1. Receives loads and unloads incoming and/or outing materials, products and/or finished goods. Compares information on packing or bill of lading slip to verify the accuracy of shipment; enters transactions in the computer to transfer material into JD Edwards (JDE) material system.
  2. Operates scanning gun, dolly, pallet jack, stand-up and/or standard forklift.
  3. Executes cycle counts, material location verification reports and collects and prepares routine administrative paperwork; stocks incoming material in appropriate warehouse location.
  4. Undertakes housekeeping functions in the warehouse, including following the Company’s 5S program.
  5. Follows established departmental policies, procedures and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives and safety, environmental and/or infection control standards.
  6. Supports team members by assisting as required.
  7. Other duties as assigned.

Forklift experience is required
  1. High School diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate and 0 – 6 months of directly related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  
  1. Basic knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system such as JD Edwards; basic Microsoft Office Suite and OBI software skills.
  2. Basic organizing and coordinating skills.
This position involves occasional sitting at a desk (up to 3 hours/day) for computer data entry.
  1. Ability to stand and walk frequently (3-6 hours/day) inside and outside of the facility when transporting materials using pallet jacks or dollies.
  2. Ability to frequently lift and carry items up to 35 pounds, and occasionally lift and carry items up to 50 pounds.
  3. Ability to occasionally lift items overhead up to 25 pounds.
  4. Ability to climb step ladders occasionally (up to 3 hours/day).
  5. Ability to twist at the waist occasionally (up to 3 hours/day) while handling materials, and bend at the waist frequently (3-6 hours) when packaging elements.
  6. Ability to reach with hands and arms frequently (3-6 hours/day) while packaging elements and removing materials from shelves.
  7. Ability to finger, grasp, and feel objects occasionally (up to 3 hours/day).
  8. Ability to occasionally push/pull pallet jacks or dollies (up to 3 hours/day).
  9. Ability to drive the company van.
  10. Ability to drive a forklift frequently (3-6 hours/day).
  11. May work outside occasionally outside the warehouse under different weather conditions such as hot or cold days (up to 3 hours/day).
  12. Gross hand manipulation of light to moderate strength is required to handle materials.
  13. Fine hand manipulation of light-moderate strength is required for computer data entry.
  14. Requires close (clear vision at 20 inches or less), and distance (clear vision at 20 feet or more) vision.
  15. Must be able to speak/hear to fulfill verbal communications and respond to vehicle alarms/buzzers.
  16. Must wear safety shoes in required areas.
  17. Must be able to work extended hours per the demands of the business.
