Rate: $22/hour
Monday-Friday   8AM-5PM, able to work OT
The Safety Health Environment Representative will support the SHE Engineering Staff in maintaining policies/procedures required to adhere to SHE Management and Technical Standards.  The SHE representative will provide administrative support to assist the organization in driving the organization to achieve and maintain SHE ratings, ISO 14001 certification, and OHSAS18001 certification.  The SHE representative will provide administrative support for the hazardous materials management program: including hazardous material handling and storage, required agency inventories, and hazardous waste documentation.   The SHE Representative will assist the organization in preventing workplace ergonomic injuries.  The right candidate will have great organizational skills, ensure timely reporting of metrics and drive continuous improvement of those metrics by engaging the business.
  1. Facilitate the cross-functional bi-monthly SHE Management Review Meetings.
  2. Create and revise company EHS policies/procedures.
  3. Perform occasional EHS audits of work areas; participate in SET team audits
  4. Develop, track, and report EHS metrics
  5. Develop, update and train to safety, environmental and health-related processes
  6. Develop, improve and deliver safety training and actively comply with safety policies and practices
  7. Collaborate in team meetings and activities, including Self Evaluation Team (SET) support as appropriate.
  8. Ensure the organization is aware of our progress on EHS activities through use of newsletters, intranet, SET team meetings, attending daily huddles and other forms of communication
  9. Ability to respond (24/7) to emergencies
  10. Provide administrative support to the SHE Engineer to ensure compliance with requirements of the following regulatory agencies.  Under the guidance of the SHE Engineer, prepare and submit permit applications and reports as required.
    1. Air Pollution Control District
    2. County of San Diego Hazardous Materials Division
    3. Department of Toxic Substance Control (Hazardous Waste)
    4. Regional Water Quality Control Board (Storm Water)
    5. CAL-OSHA
    6. City of San Diego Industrial Waste Water
    7. City of San Diego Fire Department
    8. County of San Diego Radiological Health
  11. Perform other related duties as assigned

  1. Two (2) years of related experience in the Safety, Health, and Environmental field.
  1. High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  1. May be required to obtain and maintain security clearance, which requires USA Citizenship.
