Electronics Technician

$30-$35 per hour DOE
20% OT w/ opportunity to travel
The Associate Technician will be responsible for the installing, testing, trouble-shooting and repairing of new and used machinery at various locations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and PLC skills.
- Provide technical guidance on equipment issues.
- Display the importance of safety and quality in every aspect of the job.
- Establish and maintains effective working relationships with customers, management, associates and vendors.
- Work with vendors and suppliers to identify solutions to equipment problems and identifies improvement opportunities.
- Assist with solving problems and dealing with a variety of variables in situations where limited standardization exists.
- Participate in the assembly of new machinery for effective and timely implementation and qualification.
- Investigate and analyzes causes of equipment issues and takes the necessary corrective action.
- Utilize test equipment and hand tools (both manual & powered) to perform machine adjustments and repairs.
- Learn new technology, both mechanical and electrical.
- Interface with customers to help solve product or process related issues.
- Maintain satisfactory attendance, to include timeliness.
- Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental and safety regulatory considerations. If accountable for the work of others, responsible for ensuring their understanding and compliance.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate.
- 5 years of experience in technical customer service, maintenance or sales experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
- Valid driver’s license and successful completion of background check. Required to obtain a California driver’s license or appropriate state driver’s license within 30 days of hire.
- Required to work all shifts and weekends as needed.
- Travel by air and car is required.
- Required to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with stainless steel welding and fabricating.
- Experience understanding customer needs and specification development.
- Experience interfacing with customers directly to identify and solve product issues, write service call reports and communicate customer status.
- Possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
