Position Summary
  • Responsible for the continued development and motivation of a highly productive software development group that consistently delivers exceptional product to our customers.
  • Responsibilities include engineering process (primarily agile), requirements definition, system design, implementation, design verification, test, and release to manufacturing.
  • Functions as a key member of an intra-Business product development team, participating in the creation and execution of product development and delivery strategies.
  • Responsible for multifunctional software group of 25-35 employees.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
 
Functional:
  • Recruit, develop, and review, department personnel.
  • Establish and maintain budgets, product development plans, schedules and procedures required to accomplish department and business objectives.
  • Work with peer managers to develop, implement and continuously improve development processes, ensuring quality products delivered in a timely, predictable manner.
  • Keep up to date on technology. Promote the incorporation of relevant technology into products and/or processes.
  • Support industry standards activities as they relate to specific business opportunities.
Leadership:
  • Drive problems toward resolution when encountering ambiguity, uncertainty, or inflexibility.

  • Work with Strategic and Product Marketing to formulate plans for product development, in response to customer feedback, competitive directions, and technology trends.
  • Assist Commercial and Product Marketing with interface to Sales, distributors, and customers to ensuring uniform representation of current products and future directions.
  • Ensures thorough familiarity with company policies and procedures. Appropriately applies policies and procedures in compliance with government laws. Policies and procedures include, but not limited to: Standards of Business Conduct, Intellectual Property, Control Environment, Information Protection, government regulations (e.g. health, safety, quality and environmental), and functional policies published on the Rockwell Automation Information Network.
  • Trains and motivates subordinates in the importance of full compliance with the letter and spirit of such policies and procedures.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience.
  • Managerial experience
Preferred Qualifications:
  • MS in Engineering is desirable
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, BS Computer Engineering, or BS Electrical Engineering required.
  • Experience in industrial automation software, especially Safety will be advantage.
  • Previous employment with Emerson Electric, GE and Philips highly desired
