Our client, a leader in the development, manufacture and distribution of technical life support, water, safety, personal fitness and recreation products is looking for a Purchasing Manager. As the Purchasing Manager, you will be responsible for reviewing and approving purchase orders in order to drive supply chain results.

  • Plan purchase orders based on various reports.
  • Use knowledge of materials and product to alter quantity and timing of order as appropriate to obtain best price.
  • Contact suppliers to negotiate pricing, delivery, terms and conditions based on company requirements and specifications.
  • Manage inventory levels to meet production requirements and financial budgets.
  • Monitor productivity and throughput against demands and goals and take appropriate actions.
  • Oversee special projects to ensure quality and completion.
  • Drive supplier qualification and selection activities.
  • Manage vendor contract stocking agreements.
  • Complete annual reviews of contracts to qualify yearly renewal.
  • Manage key strategic supplier relationships.
  • Establish and maintains clear and effective purchasing policies and procedures.
  • Facilitate cross functional meetings to resolve open issues as needed.
  • Minimum 2-5 years purchasing and materials management experience.
  • BA or equivalent combinations of education and experience skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift or move up to 25lbs.
  • Knowledge of supply chain concepts and application.
  • Proven record of cost reduction results.
  • Must be organized, detail oriented, and ability to effectively communicate
