Our client, a leading provider of retirement plans, insurance, and consulting services is seeking a Desktop Support Technician. S/he will perform day-to-day support of MS Windows based computers, applications, and peripherals across multiple locations. The Desktop Support Technician will assist with basic network administration functions for users as well, including working with Active Directory and Exchange. 

While the primary role of this position is user/desktop support, this position will have the opportunity to learn many advanced technologies on the job, (MS Office Suite, Exchange, Cisco Phone System, MPLS, and lots more), and grow in the position.
 
Job Responsibilities:
  • Provide initial point of contact for end-users across multiple locations, using in-person, phone, and E-mail methods.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair desktop computers, laptops, and peripherals.
  • Maintain user accounts in Active Directory and Exchange
  • Setup and maintain Cisco IP telephones
  • Mobile device support for end-users
  • Assist in evaluating new hardware, software, and other systems which can enhance our current environment.
  • Assist in the maintenance of software licensing enterprise wide.
  • Interface with various vendors in support of the systems and software.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in desktop support or similar role
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange Server
  • Advanced knowledge of Windows XP, Windows 7, and Microsoft Office 2007/2010
  • Basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, routing)
  • Ability to occasionally travel to other offices
  • Ability to occasionally work after hours
  • Ability to lift heavy objects up to 60 pounds
  • Ability to prioritize incoming requests.
Other desired qualifications:
  • A+ or Network+ certification
  • Experience with Windows 7 and Windows 10
  • Experience with Windows Server administration
