M – F; 7am – 4pm
 
Overview:
The contract designer’s primary responsibility is to work on layout and production for visual and content marketing materials with a focus on catalog development. This position requires an eye for detail and a creative mind. The ideal candidate is an energetic and well-rounded designer. A versatile and adaptable individual with a strong knowledge and desire to communicate ideas that inspire, inform, educate or captivate consumers. The contract designer works closely with Photoshop Specialist and Traffic specialist. This role reports to the Design Manager.
Responsibilities:
  • Concept and design of printed content with a focus on catalog development according to established design and brand standard guidelines.
  • Ability to multi-task working on different multi-tiered projects of varying scope and degree, in a timely manner, to meet proposed deadlines.
  • Executes proper art preparation for print and digital. Prepares art support and documentation in transferring art files for production output. Follow-through in reviewing printers’ proofs to ensure project is properly printed
  • Ability to complete any given project from concept to completion including reviewing and proofing his/her own work.
  • Ability to sell, present and pitch concepts to internal customers by him/herself or teams up with the design manager for approval.
  • Participates in creative review presentations and input sessions with external and internal customers.        
  • Work with other marketing team members in addressing creative issues/content/improvements and manage review process and updates.
 Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Fine Arts or Graphic Design.
  • 6+ years of design experience in a highly paced environment either in an in-house agency or advertising agency     
  • Expert in Adobe Creative Suite products and Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point.
  • Ability to present and “sell ideas.”          
  • Deliver design solutions within production-scheduled timeframes and within budget constraints.
  • Ability to create and thrive in a collaborative climate.
  • Proven design and creative skills. Portfolio of print and digital work is a must have.
  • Must be local and able to work in-office
  • Must possess a higher level of independent project management, strategic thinking and art direction to develop design content along with initiative to produce creative using professional knowledge and talents
