A thriving non-profit in Seattle is a Finance Associate to assist the Global Accounting with Donor Reporting. 
 
 
Responsibilities:
 
  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual reviews of award-based project expenses
  • Prepare and reconcile donor invoices and financial reports to the accounting system; ensure timely and accurate reporting on award-based projects
  • Tracking of related award receivables, including assisting in collection efforts
  • Participate the award review process, project set-up and close-out within the accounting system
  • Prepare additional compliance and managerial reports for award-based projects, as necessary
  • Participate in the monthly close and audit process by preparing and processing various journal entries and schedules as required
  • Monitor financial status of projects on an ongoing basis and follow-up with project administrators and Finance management on projects with risk of financial loss
  • Develop new tools, charts and graphs to relate financial data as organizational and donor needs evolve
  • Act as backup for other Finance functions as needed during peak periods
 
 Qualifications:
 
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration
  • 3+ years’ experience in preparation, reporting, and analysis of either department financial, budget financial, or costing accounting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience leading the preparation of donor financial reports for various funders including the Gates Foundation, U.S. Government, and DFID
  • Familiarity with monitoring and analytical skills for project oversight
  • Strong communication skills, able to effectively secure information with individuals across the organization. This is especially important with individuals for whom English is not their primary language. Skill in clear, written email communication is important in that this is often the primary means of communication with individuals from other countries
  • Proficiency using MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access)
