A thriving Defense company is seeking a Senior Contract Administrator to join their growing team.  We are seeking a candidate well-versed in transactional RMAs that will provide contractual administration, coordination, and monitoring of assigned contracts, purchase orders and agreements in coordination with functional departments.
In this role, you will provide support and guidance to San Diego and other Business Unit locations, conducting contract negotiations of terms and conditions, overriding agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and bailment agreements, teaming agreements, and process Return Material Authorizations (RMA) in accordance with company policies.
  • Ensures contracts are properly structured and executed within budget in accordance with company policies, contracts framework
  • Responsible for negotiating and managing contracts, modifications, changes in scope and equitable adjustments.
  • Process contracts and orders following company Purchase Order Acceptance Process (POAP) and maintain order entry filing system, and databases.
  • Issue Return Material Authorizations to customers and enter the information into our ERP System.
  • Retrieve RMA orders from customer portals i.e. Exostar and MyOasis, process and generate RMA sales orders, reconcile orders with the quotations and negotiate terms and conditions.
  • Prepare customer correspondence as needed, respond to customer inquiries, and process RMA Purchase Order acknowledgements.
  • Advise program/account managers and senior management of potential contract risks in accordance with the Contracts Policy, company goals, objectives, and legal requirements.
  • Assist program and proposal managers, purchasing, finance by reviewing RFP’s, Proposals, and Agreements documents providing direction on contractual matters.
  • Provide guidance for FAR/DFARS/UCC/ITAR/EAR and other government regulations.
  • Evaluate and provide guidance regarding intellectual property, data rights protections, and assertions for proposals and contracts.
  • Prepare customer correspondence; respond to legal issues related to contract terms, conditions, changes, termination, and other key contractual matters.
  • Evaluate and manage assigned contracts in accordance with company Contracts Framework.
  • Responsible for the administration and approval of purchase orders or contract instruments in accordance with company policies.
  • Review and execute Non-Disclosure Agreements and government/customer required representations
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Experience in selling over buying
  • Knowledge of Government and commercial contracting practices
  • Minimum of five years of government contract or subcontract administration experience in a defense contractor manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge of contract administration concepts.
  • Experience in negotiating price, terms and conditions, including reduction of risk through identification of onerous terms.
  • Experience with FFP, CPFF and T&M contracts in a manufacturing company.
  • Knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and intellectual property requirements and application.
  • Must be capable of independently managing multiple hi-level contracts and RMA activities.
  • Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills, engaging with internal stakeholders, and external customers.
  • Able to obtain a US Government security clearance requiring US citizenship.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
