Summary
Our client, a leading radiation oncology company that develops, manufactures and sells innovative tumor solutions is seeking a contract Supplier Quality Engineer to develop and implement a robust medical device supplier quality program in conjunction with domestic and international internal stakeholders and suppliers. 

Job Responsibilities
  • Researches and implements practical and compliant risk-based medical device supplier quality processes and tool.
  • Evaluates the suitability of material and service providers as potentially approvable suppliers.
  • Establishes and ensures continued adherence to quality agreements with key suppliers.
  • Monitors and reports supplier performance metrics.
  • Champions improvement activities in conjunction with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Maintains supplier files.
  • Reviews new designs and engineering changes to ensure clarity and adequacy of purchase specifications.
  • Defines quality requirements for purchased material.
  • Develops and executes plans to ensure purchased material conforms to specifications and quality requirements.
  • Represents Supplier Quality and Regulatory Quality Compliance department on cross-functional project teams.
  • Drives supplier and internal urgency in resolving identified supplier quality issues.
  • Guides investigation of defects using appropriate root cause analysis tools and methodologies.
  • Promotes a culture of rigor and accountability.
  • Other activities and duties as identified by direct supervisor and RQC leadership.
Qualifications & Experience
Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or closely related field.
  • Prior experience in a highly technical regulated industry.
  • Established track record of working with others to resolve issues in a timely manner while balancing supplier and business needs.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Strong prioritization, organization, and negotiation skills.
  • Concise and effective communication style.
  • History of consistently meeting and holding others accountable to established goals.
  • Desire to influence and lead with enthusiasm.
  • Proficiency with business applications including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word.
Preferred or Desired:
  • Prior medical device manufacturing experience – understands supply quality
  • Practical knowledge of relevant regulations, standards, and industry best practices
  • Previous investigation experience using formal root cause analysis tools
  • Familiarity with statistical techniques including statistical process controls (SPC)
  • Automated data gathering, processing, and reporting experience
  • Proficiency with business applications including Access, Agile, Dynamics AX, Minitab, SAP, SharePoint, ZAP
