Job Description

Launch Technician, Launch Vehicle Integration
This is a Mid-career level opportunity With an emphasis in Aerospace testing and R&D being a bonus.
Power Plant of an A&P and engine work are usually accompanied with an AA degree or equivalent.


• Stage, set up, assemble, test and install flight hardware
• Hands-on operations with both large as well as small, fragile assemblies
• Use various mechanical tools without instruction
• Maintain and install fluid system components from a Schematic or Drawing. To include and is not limited to:
• Ball Valves
• Check Valves
• Pressure Regulators
• Pressure Gauges
• Troubleshoot operational issues found during activation of fluid and mechanical systems. To include and is not limited to:
• Hydraulic systems
• High pressure Nitrogen and Helium Systems
• Cryogenic Systems
• Work with a team of technicians and engineers to ensure systems and mechanical equipment is built with the highest level of quality to support 100% successful launch of a multimillion dollar launch vehicle. To include and is not limited to:
• Good written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work with a team and independently
• Ability to pay close attention to details
• Ability to maintain a safe and clean working environment while adhering to quality policies and industry standards
• Ability to read, understand and follow detailed schematics, drawings and instructions

Required Qualifications:
• High school diploma or GED required
• Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience working Aviation or Aerospace in a mechanical capacity.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
• Experience working in a clean room environment
• Experience maintaining a propulsion test stand in the aerospace industry
• Experience working at a rocket launch facility and supporting launch campaigns
• Experience maintaining and troubleshooting complex fluid and mechanical systems
• Military aviation experience as a propulsion or airframe technicians
• Associates degree in aerospace technology or equivalent area of study
• Skill in operating and manipulating machinery and various hand and power tools requiring manual dexterity
• Experience with forklifts, cranes and heavy equipment is a plus

Additional Requirements:

• Must pass Vandenberg Air Force background check
• Must be willing to travel (approximately 10%) to other launch sites as necessary
• Must be willing to work 50+ hours when necessary to support launch and critical project timelines, flexibility required
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 35 lbs. unassisted
• Lifting, standing, climbing, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, and carrying are generally required to perform the functions of this position
• Must be able to work at elevated heights (up to 300 feet), including the use of ladders
• Must be willing to operate heavy machinery
• Must be able to work in confined spaces
• Work performed in an environment requiring exposure to fumes, odors, and noise
