Develop digital design circuits such as interface and control, calibration, waveform generation, etc. by using programmable logic devices, including Field Programmable Gate Array’s (FPGA) and Complex Programmable Logic Device (CPLD) used in Integrated Microwave Assemblies (IMA); apply appropriate standards, processes, procedures and tools throughout the system developmental life cycle to support the generation and documentation of digital hardware in radio frequency applications.
  1. Conceive the digital module development including specifications, detailed design, simulation, analysis, component selection, integration and testing; generate digital specifications based on customer requirements.
  2. Create schematic for PWB designs for both digital and analog specifications; design and integrate FPGA.
  3. Provide technical support for microwave engineers with specification reviews, design proposals and integration, including gathering, debugging and testing.
  4. Build, test and troubleshoot hardware.
  5. Participate in safety training and actively comply with safety policies and practices; maintain a clean and safe workstation.
  6. Improve and maintain 5S in your area; make suggestions for improvements.
  7. Participate in Lean/Six Sigma activities in own work area as well as events for other areas to enhance cross-functional problem solving.
  8. Collaborate in team meetings and activities, including SET team support as appropriate.
  9. Perform miscellaneous related duties as assigned.
1.      Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors; exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action; interacts with internal and some external contacts.
MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS: (The following qualifications can be acquired and demonstrated through experience, education and/or vocational training as noted or as appropriate.)

  1. Two (2) years of related experience in digital and analog circuit design with Xithe following design tools Xilinx, Altera or other CPLD and FPGA tools and PSPICE or any toher analog simulation software experience; Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering or related field required;
  2. Communication skills: ability to receive messages by telephone, in person, electronically and in writing; ask questions and rephrase statements to clarify meaning; ability to read, intrepret and comprehend complex written and verbal instructions; communicate across organizational levels; ability to read, analyze and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations; ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals; ability to speak effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients and customers and the general public; ability to communicate with quality, integrity and respect in a way that inspires others and encourages innovation and possibilities;
  3. Technical skills: knowledge of RF/Microwave parameters and test procedures; knowledge of passive component and semi-conductor device physics; knowledge of component fabrication processes used in the microwave industry; knowledge of the following design tools Xilinx, Altera or other CPLD and FPGA design tools; knowledge of Hardware Description Languages such as VHDL and Verilog;
  4. Reasoning skills: ability to solve abstract and practical problems and dealing with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists; ability to resolve conflicting requirements in a productive and cost-effective manner;
  5. Math skills: ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals; ability to compute rate, ratio and percent; ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry; knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and experience in performing failure analysis;  
  6. Computer skills: exposure to a networked environment using a Windows and/or Windows like interface using Microsoft office suite; ability to use Enterprise-wide information systems such as SAP and drawing-viewing programs such as Fastlook and/or Anzio; ability to use component support software such as 4D online, Data Minor; knowledge of PSPICE or any other simulation software;

  8.
